Donald did a wonderful job with this project, and though I am sad to see the end of such a mighty era, I find joy in knowing that they went out ministering and blessing. But listening to the samples have reminded me of what I experienced back on November 6, 2005. I was fortunate enough to attend the concert with my girlfriend and believe me, a concert it was. Possibly the best I have ever be to, and I have been to a lot.
The choir is so polished vocally and the musicians are all right in the pocket. I have started to get tired of "The Blessings of Abraham" since I work in a Christian Bookstore that plays it all the time, but I really need the message of that song along with "Heir" and "Giants". I don't know if you will be able to get the same effect through the DVDs that I got in person. The A+ of gospel acts will bless you, not to mention the greats in the audience (Ted Wynn from Ted and Sheri, Byron Cage, Isaac Carree from Men of Standard, Vanessa Bell Armstrong, the list goes on.) We were on our feet the whole time, not because it was a recording, but because the presence of the Lord was definitely there. I could go on and on and on, but it's hard to point out bright spots among the new tracks because they are all so good. The three already mentioned are superb,along with "These Nails", "Encourage Yourself" with Sheri from Ted and Sheri, "God Is", and "Matthew 28". You will love all of the D'Lawrence hits. Gospel music, choir music at it's best." |
