WHO'S IN THE HOUSE?....FATTY KOO !
MAURICE MILLIGAN | HOUSTON, TEXAS | 07/15/2005
(4 out of 5 stars)

"ALL 6 GROUP MEMBERS ARE TALENTED SINGERS/SONGWRITERS/DANCERS/MUSICIANS, EACH JUST AS DIVERSE AS THE TRACKS ON THIS CD. THE OPENER "SHAKE" AS WELL AS THE SINGLE "BOUNCE" HAS THAT DANCE POP APPEAL. THE AMAZING POWER BALLAD "CHILLS" IS A SHOWSTOPPER FEATURING INCREDIBLE LEAD VOCALS FROM VALURE & JOSH, YOU CAN ACTUALLY HEAR EACH GROUP MEMBER IN THE PHENOMENAL BACKGROUND ARRANGEMENT. "LUST' & "PRINCESS IN DISGUISE" ARE ENJOYABLE. ANOTHER STANDOUT IS THE WHIMSICAL & MELODIC "CRUISE CONTROL" WHICH FEATURES A SEXY CELLO BLENDED INTO THE GROUP'S SMOOTH VOCALS. THE POP DRIVEN "DRIVE ME CRAZY" FEATURES LEADS BY GABRIELLE AND MAY BE POPULAR WITH PRE-TEEN GIRLS. PUFFY COULDN'T EVEN MAKE THIS BAND. THIS IS A DAMN GOOD DEBUT, AND IT IS JUST THE BEGINNING."

"I was suprised, but this CD was all I was hoping for and more. I must admit, it took me a few listens to get hip to a few songs, but it was worth it. Every track is unique, as is every member of the group.

Gabrielle- A beautiful, pop inspired voice

Ron- The rapper, who brings the hip-hop appeal

Eddie B.- Nice funky style and voice

Valure- Soulful and sensual in style and in song

Josh- Great sax player and has a nice R&B flava

Marya- She makes the cello the coolest instrument and her latino vibe only spices up to group.

Together, these six voice form the group known as Fatty Koo. House of Fatty Koo is only a taste of the styles they have. The Cd has latin, soul, r and b, pop, rock, raggae, techno, and old school. All they are missing is a little bit of country. LOL.

The CD has a great song selection. The song, "Chills", is a beautiful ballad that is sure to move you in one form or another. "Bounce", a great first single where all the members shine and "boogey". Other great tracks include "Tight" a club jam which feature Valure speaking of a night on the town with a LOT of her girls. "Drive Myself Crazy" is a Gabrielle led ballad with an late 90's pop appeal. "Like that Girl" has the fellas on hand with an almost, Jackson 5 styled up-tempo piece. Another interesting song is "Move On", which is an argument between Gab and Valure played out in song.

My absolute favorite song, however, is "Juke Joint" which also features all the members. It speaks of a guy trying to approach this girl. The most interesting part is the suprise of Marya and a new spicy beat in the middle of a laid back song. It's nice.

The album is wondeful and has something for everyone. My only complaint would be that the HOFK interlude should've been at the beggining. Some people don't like it, but it only makes the group more unique and diverse.

My Advice...purchase House of Fatty Koo."
Don't write them off as another "Making The Band"...

"Fatty Koo is a very talented group discovered in Columbus, OH who happened to get a television show. They were no way made on TV. They are more talented than any group made on "Making The Band". This is a CD that you could listen to all the way through without skipping any of the songs. You like to dance? Listen to "Shake", "Bounce", and "Fatty Koo". They also have great ballads, like the popular "Chills" and "Drive Myself Crazy". This CD cannot be classified under one genre of music. They have R&B, Hip Hop, Pop, Latin, and even a little Rock edge. Pick up this CD... I highly doubt you will regret it. This is a talented group that deserves much more recognition. Watch out... Fatty Koo is coming armed and ready to make an impact in the industry!"
