Hezekiah Walker and the Love Fellowship Choir show no signs of slowing down. This mostly live release, recorded in New York's Radio City Music Hall in February 2002, finds Walker and his choir making a powerful statement that they won't be denied, despite enduring the 9/11 attacks and the personal challenges to Walker's ministry. He lays down the gauntlet with the opening "We Made It," a muscular I'm-still-standing proclamation, if ever there was one. Walker calls upon old friends throughout the release to lead on vocals, such as Kim Burrell on "The Lord Will Make a Way Somehow" and Heather Covington on "What a Mighty God We Serve." The one constant is the forceful presence of the Love Fellowship Choir, which exemplifies contemporary choral excellence. Walker even mixes it up a bit with the hip-hop-flavored studio track "Don't Wait." --Michael Lyttle

Brings Back Memories
C. Pompey | Charlotte, NC United States | 10/09/2002
(4 out of 5 stars)

"I have been listening to Hezekiah Walker for years. However, after "Live In London" Hez has been on my suspect list ever since. I used to buy his albums just because it was Hez. Now, I have to hear his albums before I buy them. This album was pretty good, if you're a person who appreciate history and I'm a person who appreciates history. Hearing classics such as "Lord Will A Make A Way Somehow" and "I'll Make It" brought back a lot of memories. "He's On My Side" was never one of my favorites, but Ted&Shari makes this song wonderful. He's got five new songs on this album, but besides "We Made It" the new songs are not that good. I've tried to listen to them and it's just not possible. As for recording with J. Moss.....let this be the last time. His songs are just not for choirs. It was great to hear Timiney on "Calling My Name". Her voice is wonderful. "When We Get Over There" is another one of those songs. He could have put "Love Lifted Me", "Jesus Is The Light", or any one of his greatest hits. "Anyway You Bless Me" was probably recorded too soon after it was recorded only 5-6 years ago. If you're looking for great new material, it's not on this album. If you're a person who loves old favorites, then this album will be a nice addition to your collection. Be Blessed"
Five Stars Simply Isn't Enough...

"Pastor Hez and the LFC has done it again! Family Affair II is simply the best CD I've heard in quite a while. By adding new flavor to some old favorites, and mixing in some great new gospel, Hezekiah Walker created a gospel music masterpiece that many will be listening to for a long time to come. I was blessed to be able to attend the live recording back in February, and the energy and the anointing that flowed through Radio City on that night is on this CD. Not only did Pastor Hez and the LFC turn it out, but so did Kim Burrell, as well as Ted & Sheri. The remake of one of my all-time Hez favorites, "I'll Make It" wasn't recorded at the Radio City concert, but it's a top-notch remake nonetheless, especially with John P. Kee in the mix.Amazon.com's five-star rating simply isn't enough for this one."
I Need You To Survive4

"Hezekiah Walker has been one of my favorite gospel artists since I heard Family Affair. Now with Family Affair 2, He has blessed me more than he will ever know. Song 12 I Need You To Survive was recently played at my church, Speak the Word Ministries International in St. Croix, Virgin Islands. It was dedicated to all of the volunteers of our church that has been there all along the way. Our ushering team, cleaning team, nursery team, bookstore workers, praise and worship, musicians, elders, and associate ministers. Just let me say by the time that song was finished playing through both our services on Sunday October 27, there was not a dry eye in the congregation. Bless Hez Walker and all the other gospel artists that GOD has given great talents to. BLESS YOU ALL"
