CD Reviews

A GREAT Christmas CD!
cybie Mauro | 01/16/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD is absolutely a winner! I have purchased many Christmas CD's over the years and this became my favorite after one playing. I like that it has all traditional carols (no pop holiday tunes). The mandolin is a refreshing and sweet instrument to hear playing these familiar melodies. The mixes are wonderful - some sounding celtic with fiddle and guitar, others more mellow with flute and strings. If you are a Christmas music junkie (as I am from Nov. 1 through the holiday), don't miss this one. (and the price is SO right!)"
Traditional music made special

"I heard this CD on NPR. I prefer the more obscure Christmas songs because I kinda get tired of traditional songs by the end of Christmas.

These are traditional songs made fresh by the instruments and arrangements. Love the mandolin and in this CD it does not sound...plinky (?) This CD sounds folksy or Appalachian-thats ok with me too. If you like really unusual songs- folk singing. Try Winter's Grace.Winter's Grace I think it goes well with this CD."
