"As I live in England, I've been waiting for this album for ages. I had already downloaded half of it, but its really not like owning the album itself. So it finally came out in the middle of April, and it has not disappointed. It picks up where Vol. 1 left off: Volume 1 was really optimistic but this album is much more pi**ed off. But it really does take you on a journey. It opens with single When It All Goes Wrong Again, which really sets the tone for the whole album with heavy guitars and drums and Art's distinctive voice getting angry in a catchy sort of way.Slide is the next track. It wasn't one of my favorites when I downloaded it, but I like it more now. Its also catchy and musically similar to the first track.Babytalk, however, is very different. It is groove-based and journeys into the kinda rock-rap genre, which Art then turns around and sort of derides in Rock Star, which is about innocent dreams of fame. Short Blonde Hair then shows where it went wrong. Its a great song, beautiful and typically Everclear in sound. Its lyrically about how people don't like him any more and think he's just 'That stupid guy with the short blonde hair' but how he doesn't care. The next track, Misery Whip, is a song about taking out anger, and taking it out on yourself. Its not my favorite track, but its quite good. The next song, Out Of My Depth, is related to the pressures of fame. It, and the next track, Good Witch Of The North, are softer ballads.Next we have Halloween Americana, a cool instrumental reminiscent of El Distorto De Melodica. Next is All F... Up, which is the reason for the Parental Advisory label. It is really heavy fast rock.Next is one of the best tracks, the gorgeous ballad Overwhelming, which is about his ex-wife and how she has treated him, like her 'pathetic little loser, someone she can ignore' and how he's 'not gonna let her overwhelme' him any more. The final track is what Song From An American Movie Pt. 1 should sound like, its the same song, except in a way better arrangement. It is a beautiful songs which says things simply but wonderfully and can make me cry.Songs From An American Movie Volume 1 was one of the most classic pop albums ever. Songs From An American Movie Volume 2 now stands as one of the most classic rock albums ever."
Harder, but a little soft.

"I received the CD today and I am very pleased that everclear has not produced another "learning how to smile". This CD has some good songs with guitar like the popular When it All Goes Wrong Again. Other songs like Slide, Rock Star, and Baby Talk are good. GTBA is a nice CD by everclear and will please most of the music fans out there!"

"This cd brings back the hard rock type of sound from Sparkle and fade, with it's soft points.I can't tell you one song on that album that I don't like. Many songs are hard rock like All F**ked Up and Rock Star. Songs on this cd are also soft like Song From An American Movie pt.2 and Short Blonde Hair, which gives this cd a good mix that would please everbody."
