Is This Guy's Voice Getting Better With Age?
david harada | The San Francisco Bay Area. USA | 03/28/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Is this guy's voice getting better with age? May I call him the masculine voice of Bossa Nova? He deserves it and he's a purist as well. If Senhor Santiago is expressing in song, what is in his heart and soul, this is truly a beautiful man."
Simplesmente Ótimo!

"WOW!

A musical feature on Globo TV of Emilio Santiago opened my world to this amazing singer!

What an incredibe voice and musicianship - and if you could see him perform, he RADIATES that beautiful, Brazilan JOY.

I fully agree with other reviewers - do not miss this CD - and if you like this, also listen to an upcoming singer from Rio, Mart'Nalia. She is on this CD with Emilio - and he does two songs from her Ao Vivo CD[...]

(- she is another do not miss!)

Enjoy - it doesn't get much better than THIS!"
Outstanding Brazilian Jazz CD
Papetti | Mexico City | 11/02/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Emilio's voice is just as great as it's always been; considered the best Jazz vocalist from Brazil for several decades already, and this 2007 CD by him is the perfect example of mature musicianship; teaming up with Ricardo Silveira for and exceptional recording. Here we have plenty of Brazilian Jazz, a bit of Samba/Jazz and more importantly, beautiful arrangements; highlights of this CD should be Marcos Valle's songs, and a track he sings in Spanish and one in English as well.

Check out Emilio's guests for this outstanding recording:

- Ricardo Silveira / Acoustic & Electric Guitars, Arrangements, Production, Background Vocals

- Marcos Valle / Fender Rhodes Piano, Compositions, Piano & Woodwind Arrangements

- Joao Donato / Piano, Compositions, Background Vocals

- Marcelo Martins / Sax, Flute

- Jesse Sadoc / Trumpets

- Paulinho Calasans / Fender Rhodes Piano

- Nana Caymmi / Vocals

- Mart'nalia / Vocals

- Nair Candia / Background Vocals

An absolute must-have if you collect Emilio Santiago's discography by all means, and also if you love Brazilian Jazz like multitudes do around the world.
