CD ReviewsA solid performance A Fan | VA | 03/08/2008 (4 out of 5 stars) "Released in 1970, this was one of the first of what would become several live performance albums. It was a hit, which considering how Elvis' management operated would ensure more such releases in the future. The album peaked at 13 on the US Billboard album chart and would eventually be certified PLATINUM by the RIAA. It was an even bigger hit in the UK reaching number 2 on the album chart there. This is a solid performance and includes a few songs that he rarely performed such as Sweet Caroline, Runaway, and Yesterday. It also includes the hit song The Wonder Of You, which was a top ten hit in the US and went all the way to number 1 on the US Adult Contemporary chart and in the UK.
While was a strong album in its day, there are better live CD's now available with more songs. Unless you are an avid Elvis fan who has to own everything he released, I think you would be better off and save some money by getting the Elvis Live CD instead of this one." |
