CD Reviews

Very moving!

"While all of these songs have been previously released (several times), this collection tries to put a new twist on them. When I first saw the title I thought "Oh boy, yet another Gospel release." While I love Elvis' Gospel recordings, they have been repackaged and released several times, but this collection includes not just Gospel songs, but also secular songs meant to inspire the listener with their message. I have always thought that Elvis' "If I Can Dream" was one of the most moving (and underrated) songs of the late 60's and it gives the collection a strong lead-off. While this collection pales in comparison to his (numerous) greatest hits collections, this is a very good CD and not a bad buy if you don't already own most of the songs on here."

"this is the kind of C.D. that you can put on day or night and really enjoy it.the gospel songs aren't preachy, they are just as the cover states...inspirational.there are three real standout songs on here.Elvis doing a Neil Diamond song (And The Grass Won't Pay No Mind)....Incredible.then Bridge Over Troubled Water....until i heard Elvis do it with backup i had no idea it could sound this Good, and Elvis's powerful voice, well all i can say is Absolutely Awesome.and the last song The Impossible Dream should have been made a tribute to Terry Fox.just listen to the words and see if you don't agree.Elvis sings it to perfection.i almost forgot,"Help Me" is one song that has gotten me through some very low periods in my life and it is a very humbling song also.a great compilation of songs on one C.D. by the greatest "Entertainer" ever to touch our lives."

"if anyone knows Elvis then you know that all he ever sang before his concerts was nothing but Gospel Music. I love listening to him"
