(5 out of 5 stars)

"EeLST is an Italian rock band, their discographic debut was in 1989. All the members are very skilled and versatile musicians, this helps them to build music which, with the common aspect of irony and fun, mixes up the characteristics of Italian pop music, rock and sometimes progressive rock. In some aspects, they do a job similar to which was done by Frank Zappa on american music, but their "ecosystem" is Italian.

This is their last studio album, after the ill-fated "Craccraccricrecr", which was recorded just after the premature death of the multistrumentalist factotum Paolo Panigada, aka Feiez, in which the band suffered the absence of the beloved friend and fellow artist.

Cicciput instead is again a superb eclectic album, full of exploratory drive and irony, helped as usual by the little help of great friends like Ike Willis of Frank Zappa fame, Max Pezzali (whose style is suitably parodied in "Shpalman") and Gianni Morandi. In my opinion the best songs are "Pagano", an odd signature experiment that can be tagged easily as prog rock, "shpalman", exhilarating popsong that tells about a superhero who punishes bad guys in a very original way, "pilipino rock", the rebellion of the Philipino home worker... sung in Elvis-esque fashion."
