"No review I could write of this CD will ever fully do it justice. Easily one the few truly essential CDs that I own (and I own over a thousand).

Some of the most transcendant and sublime music ever recorded. Although I have my favorite passages, every track is a masterpiece. In addition to being a wellspring of peace and tranquility, this music has seen me through some of my hardest times.

Of the many choral/sacred discs that I own, some have their great moments, but none have ever equalled Ektenia. This is what music is all about at its highest level. It really does not get any better than this"

"I have around 60 orthodox cd's and this one is one my favorites! the choir is excellent and it isn't even a professional choir. If only americans could sing half as well and with as much devotion. Even those who aren't religious/spiritual won't be able to avoid being spiritually moved by this cd. The cd is now out of print unfortunately and it's one of the FEW recordings DG has made in the past 10 years that have been worth buying, so if you can find a copy, buy it!"
