CD Reviews

One of my favorite live albums!
Phil Anthropy | Washington, DC | 11/04/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Okay, whatever you think of Electric Avenue, that's not what we're talking about here. This out-of-print live album is powerful reggae and rock that will blow you away. I like a lot of Eddy Grant's music, but I can find fault with almost any particular album. This one, though, is fantastic from beginning to end, touching on universal themes that make it more reggae than rock, but it's hard to put a label on it. Do yourself a favor, and seek this out, and play it LOUD."
Powerful rhythm of the Carribean

"Live At Notting Hill is one of reggae's and possibly of the music world's most underrated albums. It is, in my opinion, definitely Eddy Grant's best.

The poignant `Jamaican Child', the joyful love songs "Say I Love You" and `"Neighbor Neighbor" and the upbeat "Walking On Sunshine", the pulsating rhythmic Afro-Carribean jamboree `Hello Africa' , the social commentary `Cockney Black' and the angry 'Curfew' are all incredible songs from the Guyanese reggae balladeer, together with the pulsating Caribbean rhythm.

It is a live album , which adds to the life and soul.

It will add the feel of the Caribbean to your life."
