Veteran bunch of rockers deliver the goods

"John Cafferty & The Beaver Brown Band are one of those bands that sort of fly under the radar, with a lot of people probably not even knowing that they performed that incredible soundtrack for Eddie & The Cruisers. For years, I've been wanting to hear these guys play live, and on this album, the boys do not disappoint. This cd, for the most part, sounds truly live, and you definitely get some of that arena echo that you want to hear on a live album. Also, you don't really want a carbon copy of the studio version, but at the same time, you want to stay true to the melody of the song. John & the band do just the right amount of ad-libbing. Opening with Voice Of America's Sons from the Tough All Over album, and mixing in an absolutely beautiful version of Small Town Girl, the guys never really let up for the entire show. This is the best time I've had with a live album in quite some time. The version of the song Tough All Over sounds crystal clear with the synthesizer opening and the echo on the guitars; Tender Years was just made to be heard live.
So, if you wanna hear a veteran band that knows how to rock the house, pick up this bad boy. End of story."
