Eddie Cochran " Forever Rockin " Live

"I ordered this one on faith and I am happy to report this CD is amazing!I was expecting a poor quality live late 50's recording but I was very surprised when playing the CD just how great the sound really is!
All the hits are there and some covers you may have not yet heard.Eddie was known for his guitar playing and although it was not as up front as today, you can tell he had great command of the instrument and played all the right notes. Have a listen to " Milk Cow Blues " I was completely thrilled with Eddie's guitar ...you must hear this song it is a piece of history and yet sounds like it was recorded yesterday.
I highly recommend the set and I was just talking about disk one ! Disk two I haven't had a chance to listen to yet as I just received the CD yesterday and listened to disc one on the way to work.
Disc two is made up of earlier work and rare singles etc. I will report when I have listened and have something to say.
Buy This CD if you like Eddie Cochran!!!!! If you haven't had the pleasure then have a listen and see how much he influenced the rock and roll as we know it today!
the LIVE version of "Summer Time Blues " is loud and in your face give it and the rest of the CD a listen .... You will be happy you did!
Rock and Roll.............."

"If you're a Cochrane fan, this is a must have purchase. All of his hits are here, but also included are some amazing rarer cuts. Eddie Cochrane is one of the most underrated and influential rockers of the 50's. Had he lived, he easily would have taken his place with Buddy Holly, Little Richard and Chuck Berry as icons of that era. Considering his tantalizingly brief career, he contributed a number of classics to the rock repertoire. My favorite is the sensational "Twenty Flight Rock," the song that quite literally first attracted John Lennon to Paul McCartney in 1957. (Check out Paul's great cover version of this song on his Russian album). "Summertime Blues" is another outstanding song which is as vibrant as it was when first released 45 years ago.Eddie Cochrane is sadly under-appreciated today, but this album will give you an idea of his talent and foresight. He wrote his own songs, played a pretty mean guitar and was a pioneer of rock. This is a feel good album and highly recommended. The sound quality is the best I've ever heard on any previous Eddie Cochrane CD."
HOT DAMN! This disc ROCKS!!!

"Well, they say if you can't play it live, you can't play it all.

This disc shows that Eddie Cochran could *rock* 'em live with the best of 'em. While the studio '45 singles *are* still the definitive recordings of these songs, there are tunes here that Eddie covers, and collaborations with other artists that you won't find anywhere else.

While this might not be the *first* Eddie Cochran disc I'd reccomend (one of the Greatest Hits compilations would have that honor) this *is* the second of Eddie's CDs that I'd say was essential to fully appreciate his abilities-- he played a better guitar than Elvis or Buddy, and had a amazingly diverse voice.

As others have noted, the sound on this set is phenomonal; these aren't the scratchy-sounding transcription discs of Elvis on The Louisiana Hayride, many of these recordings are from the BBC, and others are from radio appearances here in the states. Yeah, that means they're in mono, but they still sound GREAT!!!

Especially as Eddie's career was tragically cut short in that auto accident that also crippled Rockabilly great Gene Vincent in 1960, it's amazing to me that these specific recordings haven't been more generally known to the public. They're a goldmine of Rockabilly!!!"
