Synopsis

Album Description
"Two Souls in Love" is Baroque music for two sopranos, mixed with instrumental music expressing the delights and sorrows of love, both human and divine. Ensembe Kairós was founded by German-born soprano Barbara Lorey Jokisch, who specializes in both Baroque and contemporary repertoires. She has performed with period instrument ensembles like Concerto Brandenburg and Music Ficta Köln, and has also premiered works of Arvo Pärt under the composer?s direction. Claudine Gómez-Vuistaz is a major advocate of harpsichord repertoire and of Baroque music in general on the Mexican music scene. Abel Maní originally studied cello but began specializing in viola da gamba and violone in 1990. He has toured Europe and South America. Guest soprano Lourdes Ambríz is well known at Mexico?s National Opera, where she has sung with Plácido Domingo. Since 1992 she has performed regularly with Ars Nova, an early music group. Born in New Zealand, James Bush began specializing in Baroque cello in 2000 and is a well-known soloist in his native land. He also performs abroad at the Tanglewood Festival, Casals Festival and more.
