Drew Carey ROCKS!
BeatleBangs1964 | United States | 07/09/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is an extraordinary TV show album that will make you dance, laugh and cheer. It has all the right ingredients to make you feel good. The song selection is excellent and included the Vogues' winter of 1965-66 classic "5:00 World," which I love and Edgar Winters' "Free Ride."

The dance moves are brilliantly choreographed and the scenes are not lacking in fun and laughter. The spoof of Rocky Horror with the dance off with Priscilla the Drag Queen had me laughing so hard I was wiping tears of laughter out of my eyes. The scene were Carey and the Business Professionals are rounded up in the police truck and brought to the precinct house is priceless! That was just TOO funny! I loved it when the men did that dance to the 1976 Edgar Winters' hit, "Free Ride." That whole episode made me laugh until it HURT!

Drew Carey is a genuine talent. He can sing, dance, act and is just naturally funny. He has a good supporting cast who are masters of the fine art of comedy. There are few comedians I enjoy to the extent I enjoy Drew Carey. The Christmas parodies had me doubled over with laughter as did some of the other cleverly worked pieces.

The booklet that accompanies this CD provides a guide to each episode with the songs that are features. You also get treated to some good photographs of the show. This is truly an outstanding work of comedic art. I love it!

Carrey makes few good choices for soundtrack

"While I am a huge fan of the show, I must admit I had to stuggle to give the soundtrack 3 stars. The reason being that I was never a fan of the opening song that he did for season 1 (and 2?), "Moon Over Parma", which is cheesey and quite frankly makes absolutely nada sense. That plus I just plain do not like most of the songs on the c.d. The only thing that saves it is the medley "Groove Thing&Time Warp", "Cleveland Rocks" and the song he sadly only used for one season, "Five O'Clock World", which is very catchy and addictive. I still think that for just those 3 songs the c.d. is worth buying."
