More than any other member of the Rap community, Dr. Dre was responsible for moving away from the avant-noise and political stances of late '80s Rap as well as the party vibes of the old school. Instead, he helped to pioneer Gangsta Rap and created his own variation of that genre, known as G-Funk. It is virtually impossible to hear mainstream Hip Hop that isn't effected in some way by Dre and his patented G-Funk and Gangsta Rap stylings.
