"Doris Day enjoyed three successful and overlapping careers, and this 2-CD set celebrates all three facets of her talent. The first ten tracks concentrate on her singing with the big band of Les Brown, and the next fifteen present songs from the movies in which she appeared (I wish that the track listing identified them). That leads on to her solo records for Columbia, of which 25 appear on the second CD. Many of these songs were already standards, others achieved prominence thanks to her, and it's a delight to hear them again, rendered in her clear but slightly husky voice. Buddy Clark, Frank Sinatra and Dinah Shore feature also, and this well thought out reissue is highly recommended."
