Sublevel: What else can be said about the best house party around that hasn't already been said?

Honestly as of today, Sunday August 9, 2009, if it wasn't for Doc Martin and his SUBLEVEL parties, the scene would be dead for me. In this day in age, electronic music has done it all and we've all been fortunate to have been along for the ride.

Unfortunately, nowadays things done changed. We can't go out dancing without paying $25+ to get in, $8 dollar beers, $14 dollar cocktails, and then have to deal with a bunch of meat-heads trying to pick up on our chicks. Most venues create an idolization of the DJ by placing him/her on some huge stage behind a bunch of security guards, not giving the dancer an opportunity to connect and show his/her appreciation. Not SUBLEVEL, not Doc, and though he is one of the BEST in the world, he continues to KEEP IT REAL; always underground, the best house music, NO last call for drinks, no flashy lights, no barbie dolls & muscle heads, just REAL HOUSE HEADS, the dopest basslines, and the phatest grooves layered with their proper acappelas! (did I mention ACID?!) SUBLEVEL continues to stay untainted (suprisingly since its home base is in Los Angeles) and is the best party around...HANDS DOWN.

Of all of Doc's mixes that I've ever heard, I think "Mix the Vibe" is the one that comes closest to capturing the essence of what a night out in SUBLEVEL is all about.

(not considering all his limited NYE SUBLEVEL CD's that are super rare and difficult to come up on)

WEST COAST STYLE: LET'S HAVE IT DOC!
