CD Reviews

Cool!!!
Arachnotron | I don't know... | 01/19/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Even though musically this band sounds EXACTLY like Pyaemia(this band actually has 2 Pyaemia members)... They totally pump out some really solid deathgrind in the early Suffocation vein... The vocals are somewhat weak(Pyaemia has some ultra low guttural vocals unlike this band) and sounds like it's computerized or something, but it doesn't really matters. I don't know if the vocalist is using effects or of it's his natural voice, but anyways, this band is worth enough to give a listen to any brutal deathgrind fans out there!!!"
Brutal!

"Wow this is brutal and technical Death/Grind. The riffs are excellent, the drums blast away and break into awesome little clean intermissions, the vocals are deep, like early Suffocation, and the bass is actually audible! The band is technical as heck. Crazy Fills, some insane riffs, and drum complications thrown in at seemingly random intervals, this is a brutal yet intelligent album. Though Disavowed tend to repeat their riffs quite frequently and some are quite similar to each other, they do it in such a way that it doesn't bore the listener. Speed, technique and melody rule all their songs making it an enjoyable CD to listen too, from track 1 to 9. Robert Kok and Joel Sta are also in another brutal death metal band called Arsebreed (formerly called Bloodcum), with former Pyaemia members. Fans of Suffocation, Disgorge, Pyameia, Deeds of Flesh, Mangled, and Dying Fetus should definately consider giving this band a listen."
