Nancy plays her cello in the Dhrupad style of North India. Dhrupad is a classical genre in which the musician delves into the inner psyche through systematic improvisation. In this CD, Nancy plays an extended alap, jor and jhala in Bhim Palasi, a blissful afternoon raga. The pakhawaj drum joins for the Chautal, a 12-beat rhythmic cycle. The text of the composition describes the graceful movements of Lord Krishna dancing in a garden. This is followed by Sultal, a lovely 10-beat cycle describing the ecstacy of Lord Krishna's disciples.
