CD Reviews

One of the best 'death metal' bands of all time.
08/01/1999
(3 out of 5 stars)

"This disc would have been better if more studio tracks were included. I don't care for the "live" songs (most of disc two). I was also disappointed that 'Eternal Ban' didn't make the roster,it's one of their best. Still there is quite a lot of very good tracks here. Destruction is what death metal was. If you haven't heard them this is your chance to treat yourself."

(4 out of 5 stars)

"This greatest hits album by Destruction really deserves 5 stars, but again the booklet inside the CD is a HUGE let down. Inside you see a few pictures scattered around, no Intro to the band, no respected journalist recounting Destructions glory in the 80's and not even a word from the band members. They could have made this double CD much more special if they had included more information on the band and a brief bio. Anyway, the music in it itself saves the CD. Destruction play a very fast form of Thrash metal that influenced countless of thrash and Death metal bands alike. All the classic Destruction songs are here and you get a few live songs. I wish I could have seen them live back when they were touring for the "Live without Sense" tour. No heavy metal collection should exist without a Destruction album lying around, this is a good CD to have."
