CD Reviews

Definately worth it!

"I particularly like this cd (especially since I couldn't find it at local stores!) for one main reason. It contains my favorite thing by Depeche Mode ... live songs. A Question of time is a good song just to have by itself, but the fact they not only threw in remixes, but live songs that aren't usually found on thier conventional "Live" albums is a HUGE bonus.Black Celebration (LIVE) is one of my favourite songs, and the live version is also really good. I enjoyed this live version more than the one on the "101" live album for some odd reason. I usually like live versions of songs when the song was still new, instead of when it's performed live 4 years (+) after its released, and its mixed differently. Something to Do (LIVE) is another great track, but in this rare case, I liked the 101 version better. This version is good as well, especially for collectors like me who enjoy hearing one song performed live at different dates.. So if your like me, you'll enjoy this single!I can't think of a better reason to buy this album since Stripped (LIVE) is on it. It was during this Black Celebration era (~1986) that DM did some of their best live stuff (in my opinion) it was simply classic. More than a Party (LIVE) is not going to appeal to you if your an exclusive 86 (and on...) fan. Its a totally 80's song, complete with 1983 style sound effects. It will most likely appeal to people who like DM early stuff, but if your like me, you may listen to a DM song once or twice and get totally into it.A Question of Time (Remix) is a good song on its own... I rarely ever like these "extended remixes" because making almost every single you release in a 15 minute format can make you sick of the song. After a while, they really run out of ideas for these "extended mixes" which is why I don't like them. The Black Tulip mix of Black Celebration is ok, whenever I don't remember the specifics of a remix of one of my favorite songs, it usually means I wasn't too fond of it. But it is a good remix, but I'm just a big fan of the origional and live versions, so this one didn't appeal to me too much.If your a fan of the 86 DM era or at least like their live stuff, this is the single for you. If your a casual fan, I can't think of one reason (besides great live performances) to purchase this single."
