Demis Roussos UK Comeback Album
yasir al-din | Wakefield, West Yorkshire United Kingdom | 07/12/2002
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is Demis Roussos UK comeback chart album since his last UK chart album "Life and Love" in 1978. The album has done very well and entered the UK album charts at no.17. This album contains Demis Roussos biggest hits ever. Whats so special about this is album is it contains a different mixture of music from English, Italian and French and it shows that Demis is a true phenomnon because not many singers can sing in many languages and sound perfect. Whats so special about this album is it contains Italian operas that are not at any Demis CD's and thats what special about the album. In the end I reccomened this album because it is one of Demis biggest successes in the 21st century."
Unmistakeable voice will live forever and ever
Peter Durward Harris | Leicester England | 03/09/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This Greek singer (actually born in Egypt) originally became popular in mainland Europe as lead singer of Aphrodite's child. Their European hits included Rain and tears, I want to live and It's five o'clock (all included here), of which Rain and tears made the UK charts in 1968, but it only just made the top thirty.

Eventually, Demis embarked on a solo career. Again, he had much greater success in mainland Europe than the UK, but he still managed three top five UK hits, one of which was an EP that topped the singles chart. The main track on the EP (Forever and ever) remains the track that Demis is best remembered for in Britain, but When forever has gone (a number two hit) and Happy to be on an island in the sun (a number five hit) showed that he was no one-hit wonder

Without knowing his chart history in other European countries, I cannot say if this is the definitive collection, but it contains all the tracks that Demis is famous for in Britain, together with plenty of other fine songs."
