Close-Up on album
Charles Bloom | Plano TX | 08/23/2005

""Close-Up" was the followup to David Sanborn's phenomenal "Change of Heart" album that lifted him to jazz superstar status. Half the cuts are legendary, including "Slam," "J.T." "Lesley Ann" and "Goodbye," with which Sanborn concluded a recent SRO performance at the Dallas Symphony Hall."
My favourite sanborn!

"Since I bought this album I have been his big fan. I heard most of his album but still yet CLOSE-UP is my favourite, he sound different then any other album. I think this is very well ballanced album, It starts with great energetic song SLAM which captured my heart from the start, and then goes to J.T and LESLEY both starts slow but both get better towards the end specialy J.T the improvisetion is amazing in this song, then GOOD BYE, This song is realy emotional(nearly cryied),in these kind of song sax is realy singing. The next song SAME GIRL seemed like a little rest to me, but next two song PYRAMID and TOUGH brought back the tension from the beginning and then so on. This album realy kept my blood boiled till the end. I think sanborn`s music changed from this album, I think this album was his end and new beginning to his music. This album also showed great talent of Marcus Miller as a great producer not only as a great bass player."
