"
A colossus of the violin!
Hiram Gomez Pardo | Valencia, Venezuela | 09/25/2008
(5 out of 5 stars)

"In just a few days (September 30th), we'll be reminding the first centenary of this emblematic, prominent and superb exponent of the violin, the only soloist for many capable to equal to Heifetz in which tonal perfection, limpid phrasing and accurate expressiveness concern. The power of his vibrato and his amazing thrills are still a matter of wide discussion around the world.

But besides, his name will always be so deeply attached with Dmitri Shostakovich, his own father Igor and other emblematic artists of the XX Century. Sviatoslav Richter, Vladimir Yampolsky, Paul Badura Skoda (with whom recorded his last recital) .

It's time for us to take a backward glance to this prominent artist a true National emblem and I think in his natal country there must be countless commemorations due this fact.

He is part of the giants of the violin.
