From a Bebop purist

"As a bebop purist I have been reluctant to pick up any newer releases because I have always felt that the best has already been recorded. What is it with new artists that insist on "updating" a whole musical genre? "Bophead" is an exception to this. I have only heard a portion of this recording but I am buying this CD. If you enjoy the vibes as much as I do, this is for you. A very pure bebop sound with nice production (something my older CDs lack) makes this a sure thing. Dave Pike has many years of experience with some incredible players and it's finally time for him to get the credit he deserves. He is backed up by some top-notch bop veterans on this release."
