Brubeck over time.

"This album lets us review a part of The Brubeck legend, spanning a period of over 58 years. We can hear examples of his talent that is often not remembered over this large span of time. The quality has been at a high level, and the innovation continuous over what would be enough time for several notable careers.

The music on this disc Essential Standardsis diverse and wonderful, and the big surprise is that the "signature" Brubeck pieces are missing. This is not to be regretted, because it reminds us that he was capable of rendering the old "Standards" in a way that was his own."
