CD Reviews

Musical Genius
Real Talk | Italy | 06/14/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"This concert was recoded 02/03/2006 at the House of Blues in Los Angeles (look out for the DVD coming soon).

Quik is on the stage with a live band of 12 elements, really talented dudes, expecially Robert "Fonksta" Bacon that on "Medley For A V" shines, in a real way!

If you like real Hip Hop, P-Funk at its finest, real music with instruments, you gotta buy this record.

The sound is perfect, it's like being there.

PS: DJ Quik dedicates the song "Safe + Sound" to the memory of 2Pac, which used to listen to it when he was in jail.

A truly "musical" rapper - he's a legend

"Quik is one of the most underrated rappers out today. His beats are always well arranged and can actually be played by a band. Quik is a real musician. This album contains all his classics, with the exception of "You'z A Ganxta" played live with a 12 piece band. His set at the House of Blues in LA was unforgettable and this album commemorates it! Don't stop what you're doing Quik - the fans love you and highly appreciate your work!"

"Quik is one of the west coast musically talented and genius minds that helped put the west on the map . I'm a Quik fan since day one back in 1991 . This CD is like a ride down memory lane. with classic hits from the veteran himself. I strongly recommend it to all west coast and true DJ Quik Fans .
