"Crosby, Stills and Nash's 1977 album (CSN) is a masterpiece of musicianship, lyrics, and overall production. There are so many songs on this album that shine, and each member contributes in a big way. This album has a certain mood and tone about it-yet it's so artistic and exploratory. Every song is outstanding, but the ones that I enjoy the most are SHADOW CAPTAIN, CARRIED AWAY, ANYTHING AT ALL, CATHEDRAL, JUST A SONG BEFORE I GO, and COLD RAIN. The song, ANYTHING AT ALL is a natural tranquilizer, I swear!!! After a long day at work, play this song, and you will feel relaxed. CATHEDRAL is very interesting and deep, with great piano work. Whenever I hear this song, I think of a cloudy, dreary day. What I like the most about this album is the deep lyrics, as well as the guys not being afraid to be so mellow at times. Of course, the year was 1977, and this album has that 70's mellower sound. CSN comes up big, and is a classic album by a classic trio. Get it, and you won't be disappointed. 10/10"
Tastefully moving on

"When Crosby, Stills & Nash released CSN in 1977, the world had changed quite a bit from that dream of '69 - still a long time before the dawn indeed - but somehow they managed to record an album which bore an incredible unity with all three of them bringing inspired songs to the brew. How can one not be moved by the sad beauty of Cold Rain or the irony in Anything At All??? What about the magnificence of Cathedral? All songs are magically crafted, bearing wonderful harmonies - even for their high standards. Great rock grooves provided by Stills also guarantee CSN's versatility. And taking into account the context of the times around its release, CSN is particularly strong and easily surpasses their works as solo artists or duos.

This is by all means a great record from start to finish, something to ride along their original 1969 release with ease. Also, mention should be given to the exceptional audio quality of this remastered edition, something which gives it the required clarity it deserves. A true classic.
