Crash Vegas is "Stone" Great
Joy Harmon | Buffalo, NY | 06/19/2005
(5 out of 5 stars)

"There's not a "dog" on this release by Crash Vegas. Michelle McAdorey's sometimes haunting, sometimes vicious, but always gripping vocals envelope the listener in a sweet bath of sound. Never overbearing, the music on each song is a platform from which McAdorey's voice can soar and claim dominance, thus captivatingly entrancing the listener. Rolling like a freight train, the track "Nothing Ever Happened" showcases McAdorey's ability to veer between subtle sweetness and a ferocity as tough as nails, while "September Morning" exposes her vulnerable underbelly in a reminiscence that feels familiar to any listener. A few of the tracks reveal some unusual fantasies, both violent and just *strange* -- "You & Me," "Keep It to Myself," "My City Has a Place," and the title track, "Stone" ... all fun to delve into. All in all, it's a thoroughly entertaining collection of music. I highly recommend "Stone.""
Great music!

"It's sad to see that I'm the first person to review this Crash Vegas album. It's their best. Melancholic songs, that range from Country-style to straight out Rock & Roll, with amazing lyrics. I love all the songs on it. The only weak track is "1800 Days" but even that song is memorable. My favorite songs are 1 - Stone (amazing lyrics!) 2 - September Morning 3 - Please Don't Ask Me.Why, oh why did the group implode? They had success and suddenly decided to go against it. I don't know who pissed off Michelle McAdorey but Crash Vegas was never a manufactured band. Their music sounds better today than they did ten years ago because nothing has surpassed it.Anyway, great music, beautiful lyrics, moving vocals by Michelle make Crash Vegas' Stone one of the best albums ever!"
