CD Reviews

Craig Chaquico has 'Found His Way Back' to the top.
Nancy E. Robinson | Scottsdale, AZ United States | 11/16/2009
(4 out of 5 stars)

"Craig Chaquico, former guitarist for Jefferson Airplane/Jefferson Starship and ruler of the high-energy yet mellow acoustic guitar is back on track with Follow the Sun. His talent with jazz rhythms and rock licks is just as at home on the electric guitars he brings out on this album as with the classical and gut-string guitars he has primarily used on past records. Ozzie Ahlers and most of Craig's regular touring band join him again on Follow the Sun. It has rapidly moved up to tie with 'Acoustic Highway' as my 2nd-favorite Chaquico album (yes, I own them all, and Four Corners is still my favorite! If you are familiar with and comfortable with Craig's jazz/new age music, Follow the Sun fits right in, just a little funkier than before. If you are new to this genre or this artist, I suggest that Panorama: The Best of Craig Chaquico is a good place to start."
An Excellent Jazz record

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This is a terrific release starts out with some fine "santana" like vibes and journey's through some jazz, rock, mellower tones. the overall journey is terrific. Set the controls for the heart of the sun woulda been a good title for this one! If you like his last few records, this one trumps them big time..."
Great CD! Different sound.

"I loved the album because his sound is different that what I have been listening to in the realm of smooth jazz. His style appears to me to have a Spanish or Mexican influence. Some of his guitar work seems intricate to me."
