CD ReviewsNestico does it again Fresh Scent | Philadelphia, PA | 06/01/2001 (4 out of 5 stars) "Sammy Nestico's incredible arrangement of "Sweet Georgia Brown" is reason enough to purchase this CD. Actually, the entire CD (all Nestico arrangements) is full of great Basie-style tunes. There's even a funk number (that Basie reportedly didn't like playing) thrown in for good measure; it was 1977, so I suppose you had to. Great performances by Jimmy Forrest, Al Grey, lead trumpeter Lin Biviano, and drumer Butch Miles round out this underrated set. I knocked off a star due to the shifting quality of the sound. Otherwise, one of my Basie favorites."
