Great Music + Great Cello Music + Great Price

"Arrau said Argerich was not very consistent after naming her one of the two greatest young pianists. The case for Starker is different. It is not a question of consistence. But occasionally he has to battle with his child prodigy where we have a small degree of affectation. None of this problem in the CD whatsoever. Here we see Starker ranking in his own right somewhere between Casals and Feuerman, and sometimes even better either one of them at some points. The repertoire as well as the performances are marvelous, so is the recording. The sound is most excellent too and the price is just irresistible. If you're looking for some great cello music, grap this before it goes out of print."
