Joaquín Turina (1882-1949) was one of the most important Spanish composers of the first half of the 20th century, whose hometown of Sevilla shaped both his personality and his oeuvre. The basis of the latter is the Andalusian folk song, and he was also influenced by his friend Claude Debussy. On this double CD, the Spanish-German duet Duo DS, consisting of violinist David Delgado and pianist Stefan Schmidt, perform all of Turina's works for violin and piano.
