CD Reviews

Very good
Ice Cream Man | DC | 02/22/2008

"I really love this record, first got into it about 7 years ago. Until recently, i hadn't listened to it in sometime. But i popped it in the other day and it still does it for me. Brings back a lot of memories. I'll have to re-order it though.....my copy is so scratched half the songs skip:-\ Great album though"
Great Production

"Whoever said the production of this album is poor must not know anything about production. Just Got Wicked has killer production and excellent chord progressions through the chorus. The drum sound is SUPPOSED to sound the way it does; it is called compression. Compression as an effect has been used extensively by the alternative metal/nu-metal genre which replaced the bland organic sound of the grunge bands, which replaced the dripping hall reverbs of the 80's. Any audio engineer can tell that this is not a low budget record. It is very well mixed, and the studio is using some very high quality gear. I've recorded in indie DAW studios and major million dollar studios and know the difference. If any of you think different, try to reproduce the sound of this album. It shouldn't be too hard for you since the recording quality is so "poor". Love this CD, glad to hear Cold's back for 2008/2009."
Just one of those great bands that were flushed way

"This band, this album especially, was frequently in my player back when it came out, one of my favorite albums at the time. While my musical tastes have greatly changed, that clever late 90's/early 00's sound that many alternative bands had still lingers with me, and this group is one especially that remains powerful still today, without feeling dated or over-played. You all know what I'm talking about! 5-6 years ago popular music fell into a niche of cliched and repetitive music, this band for one has fallen into that realm of wimpy, hallow, and soulless music, along with Static-X, Godhead, Powerman 5000, and many others. Any alternative rock fan from that time knows exactly what's happened to these once great musicians.

Even so, this particular album from the golden age of dark alternative rock music retains creative strength. It truly is a valiant stab at the pop world, it's just a shame that this band chose the other team. I have to give this album a full 5 stars because since I purchased it and years later sold it all the songs come back to me fresh and strong, something not many albums can do."
