CD Reviews

COIL at their best!
Patrick Cole | Coral Springs, Florida | 07/02/2009
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Instead of reading this review, I would just buy this CD and let the music speak for itsself, because words truely can't describe how great it is. I've been a devout Coil fan for about 7 years now and have a pretty good chunk of their discography, and this is by far their most accessible record. The songs are a lot more structured than typical Coil ("typical coil"... how's that for an oxymoron!) yet they don't lack any of the mind-bending sound affects, and the poignant melodies that fit the emotions of subject matter of the songs like a glove: something we've all grown to love Coil for. Unlike typical Coil, it's very industrial (finally lending merits to the incorrect label in which most people try to catagorize them) in sort of a :wumpscut:/front 242 kind of way, but so much more interesing and innovative. I listened to the album for the first time tonight and I feel that I've struck gold. I NEVER COULD HAVE IMAGINED THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH HIGH QUALITY MUSIC. And trust me, it's WELL worth every penny."
