Amazing LP

(5 out of 5 stars)

"1955 was less than a week old when Clark Terry and others waxed these Quincy Jones arrangements. It has been reissued under the name 'Swahili' in honor of the kickoff cut, a masterpiece of recorded jazz alchemizing all previous styles. The rest of the tracks (NOTE: I haven't heard the bonus stuff, but I'm sure it kicks) are really great too, not surprising once you peep the cast, all of whom were in their prime or close to it."
