CD Reviews

The best part of the eighties your stupid teenager will neve
Daniel M. Goss | 06/01/2006
(5 out of 5 stars)

"When I just listened to one of those lame twenty second clips, I had to snarf back a tear as junior high in the eighties came rushing back at me... then I stood up and kicked over a lamp and pogo'd into my wife, knocking over the potroast she'd been cooking all day. Then I ran into my convalescing father's room and jumped up and down on his bed until he leaned over and barfed on the dog.
This was one of the first albums I bought with my first slave wages at fourteen. Ask anybody, I've never gotten over it. Add "Wild In the Streets" and magically there are elbow sized holes in the dry wall and you'll be going to work with all manner of bruises from the pit you started with your wife, dog and two year old."

"By far the best album to come out of the 80s HC punk scene that was taking place in L.A. Fourteen songs in sixteen minutes, each one more powerful and blistering than the last. Everyone remarks about how this album is so short. Few have commented on how beautiful the flow is. The transition between the songs is amazing, and not one of the fourteen is bad. If you haven't gotten the message yet - buy this! It's even better than "Damaged". Too bad the Jerks never came up with another album this good."
The Jerks First And Finest.....

"This is the Circle Jerks' best album, yet it's only about 15 min. long. The best thing to remember: Try to get the version on Porterhouse Records(Greg Hetson's(C.J. guitarist)new label), as it includes a cd-rom with a video(Target video's Beverly Hills) as well as 8 bonus tracks(5 you have to register for), and it's all great. The 14 main tracks are all amazing, under 2 min. blasts of adolescent punk rock, bratily sung by former Black Flag vocalist Keith Morris. A must own for any hardcore punk enthusiast. Killer!"
