CD Reviews

Worth Buying for the B-sides?

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Oh, yes it is!!! If you picked up the Church's new album 'After Everything Now This' and liked it quite a bit, you will definitely want to grab this CD single. The opening cut is straight from the album while the second is the Soft Remix of 'Numbers'. As the same implies, it is not quite as 'loud' as the album version. Otherwise there is not much difference. The third song 'Undo' is what makes this purchase worth it hands down. The only reasons why this may not be played on the radio regularly is because it is a bit longer than radio usually likes and had one 'bad' word beginning with F that can be prominently heard. Many say that the album is heavy on ambiance and lacking in 'kick'. 'Undo' would blow that pattern right out and is probably why it was left off the full album. 'Oxydental' is a classic modern Church epic track. There's lots of jamming by the band going on quite well along with Steve Kilbey nearly hissing out some serious lyrics! I strongly recommend this single if you are a modern Church fan but, here's the most helpful part of this review... buy the American release if you are in America - it's half the price of the import and EXACTLY THE SAME TRACKS!"
