A beautiful rendition of the Russian Liturgy

"The monks of the Benedictine Monastery of Chevetogne, Belgium are famous for their commitment to unity between the Catholic and Orthodox Churches. The Monastery is a Catholic bi-ritual community, meaning that they celebrate liturgical prayers from both the Roman and the Byzantine traditons.This CD contains the Liturgy of St. John Crysostom, the most used liturgy in Churches of Byzantine heritage. The Russian chant is rendered by the monks with a uniquely sweet style, unlike many Russian choirs that sing more vigorously.This masterpiece easily tops my small, but growing collection of Byzantine Liturgical chant albums."
