CD Reviews

It grew on us

(5 out of 5 stars)

"This CD took a few listens to really appreciate but now I am again finding myself humming certain songs all day long as I did with earlier CDs. Skip's voice in the song "It's Your Love" and the harmonizing is Cherryholmes at its best. Molly's sassy "Live It" is a very catchy tune. I feel I too quickly put a negative feed back on here at first and am doing a complete turn about. This is a great CD and continues to show the talent of this family. A 5 star!"
Great instruments, bad songs.

"This is one incredibly talented family. They are amazing instrumentalists. And Oh Boy do they play fast.

That said, they are not song-writers. Their songs sound as if someone sat down and just started copying out of a novel. The words just kind of run on without any rhyme, and you don't care what they are singing about. The singing voices are only average, and the son should not be a featured singer at all.

This is the third Cherryholmes album that I've bought. Black and white is a very good album, and the song "Black and white" is one of favorite songs.

If Cherryholmes were to not do all their own songs. Maybe shop for some good ones, and remake some traditionals, I believe that they could make a much better album. The instrumental talent of this group is amazing, but their writing leaves a lot to be desired."
