The current CD contains the complete Bird at St. Nick's album (tracks 1-13) plus all of the additional material taped that same evening (tracks 14-22). As a bonus, we end our CD with another rare private recording by Bird, including Sarah Vaughan as guest vocalist on one track. The St. Nick's date was privately recorded by tenor saxophonist Don Lanphere. Bird was relaxed on these recordings. His talent and invention transcends the obvious limitations of the recording quality. This is the first time all the St. Nick's material is compiled on just one edition. RLR.
