Good Ol' Gospel!!!

"The Cathedrals go back and record some of the "shaped-note, quartet radio songs" from the 40's and 50's "radio days" era, where a quartet would gather around a microphone and sing in a 15-30 minute radio show, but the only thing that is updated is the production. The songs are recorded as close to the original arrangements of the radio days, but the quality of the recording is a good as any modern record. A real toe-tapper is the opening track, "Ride That Glory Train," as well as "Hard Trials Will Soon Be Over" and "I Know My Savior Is There." Scott Fowler's performance of "Mansion Over The Hilltop" is superb, as is the group effort in "The Love Of God" (which includes a moving resitation by George Younce). All in all, this is a gospel album ALL gospel music fans will enjoy! On a side note, my best friend (who NEVER listened to gospel music before) was turned on to gospel music by "Glory Train," which is now one of his favorite songs!"
