CD ReviewsA creative genius David Brooks | Spruce Grove, AB Canada | 02/27/2004 (4 out of 5 stars) "Harry Partch was a extraordinary character who shunned the music world, who had lived most of his life in the California desert making instruments out of airline fuel tanks, jars, bottles and what ever else he could salvage. A total of 30 instruments that produced incredible sounds that could only be played by the composer or his small ensemble group that took a great deal of time to perfect. The music covered here spans a 21 year period 1943-1964 and is of the most rhythmic and exotic music that draws most of it's influence from Far East. It was as distinctive as any music could get at the time, which Partch did little to promote."
