If you answered "yes", than you know probably Carlos Jones as a member of such seminal Cleveland reggae bands at Ital, First Light, and Carlos Jones and PLUS Band. If you answered "no", do yourself a favor and find out! In either case, I highly recommend Carlos Jones "Full Circle Retrospective".Los skillfully blends a variety of influences including reggae (first and foremost), rock, folk, and gospel into a joyful music that defies a one word description. You can't hang one name on the musical vibe that eminates from Los's heart to your speakers.All the tracks on this disc are essential in a career that has spanned close to 25 years. Many are available here for the first time on CD and the rest have been out of print for years. Here's a track listing and comments: 1. Nelson Mandella - Los's tribute to a living legend. 2. Reggae Meltdown - Title track from the long out of print First Light CD. 3. Unity of Conscious - Another mid tempo First Light classic. Great blend of reggae, folk, and rock. A catchy song with a message. 4. Morning Star - Great ballad. 5. In Your Eyes - This is a great example of the mix of reggae and rock that was First Light. 6. Full of Vibe - I don't believe this was ever released on CD before. A great song of hope and dreams. 7. Where Reggae Comes From - Live version of a party classic. Chant along with me "...I want to know where reggae comes from...". 8. Peace Love and Unity - Float along on the one love vibe. This song takes you on a 10 minute journey of Peace, Love, and Unity that you'll want to visit again and again. This is a great piece of music which really shows the vibe that flows from Carlos's soul to his fans. The sound of the ocean mixing with the vocal and instruments transports the listener to another level of consciousness. It's just one of those special songs. Experience it for yourself..."
