The melodic structures allow them to showcase the ability to extract some truly rich textures from their instruments. The recording quality is very good, though not perfect - it lacks some of the visceral appeal that the best recordings have. The music itself is deep and provocative, though not entirely engrossing, as there are some passages which are a bit labored. Overall, it's highly recommended for anyone who wants excellent contemporary string music."
