CD Reviews

Brilliant!

"I found this CD more satisfying than the previous two. I play it constantly while driving. I have no idea how I came to this CD. Maybe one of my daughters bought it for me. I prefer the renditions of Mozart, Beethoven and Dorsey himself to those of Bach (personal taste, I guess). By the way, I found tracks 20 and 21 on this CD, "Dimensions" and "Birthday Dimensions," the best of the lot. Both were composed by Dorsey. He should do more. I am waiting for his next CD. Dorsey is a gift to our generation, as much as Beethoven was a gift to people of another time."

"Mr Dorsey demonstrates his incredible skill yet again in Busted. If you love the classical period of music and/or Don's previous works, you'll no doubt fall in love with his style and passion. But Busted takes you on a more personal journey. In addition to some awesome Mozart and original compositions, Don gives us some fascinating insights into his creative process. You really feel like you're in his studio having a coffee while he plays his favorite pieces for you.

If you've never enjoyed Don's high-resolution interpretations before, I suggest you buck the trend and listen to his discography backwards; starting with Busted and ending with the original Bachbusters. Also, make sure you don't have your bass turned down. Don really rattles the woofers when appropriate.

This is wonderful fun music that you really shouldn't miss. Including track 23, "Don Dorsey, Unplugged." (I can't remember the last time a high-end musician made me laugh!)

Review aside, I can't wait till we get another installment of Dorsey. I'd love to hear more Bach (Invention XIII, please!!) and more of Don's compositions."
