Brooklyn-based BUKE and GASS are Arone Dyer on the "buke" (a six-string baritone ukulele) and Aron Sanchez on the "gass" (a guitar-bass hybrid). Both members also mobilize a small army of foot percussion, filtering the result through various pedals, amplifiers and homemade inventions while Arone's supermelodic vocal lines weave through the beautiful yet unwieldy musical matter. It's a surprisingly complex sound for two people and all the invention and musical multi-tasking makes for live shows that are visually unexpected and sonically explosive, balancing light and dark, calamity and control
