Rocking Men Indeed!!!
JOHN SPOKUS | BALTIMORE, MARYLAND United States | 06/06/2003
(5 out of 5 stars)

"Whoever says this is not an innovative, great(one of early metal's best)album; is a poser who needs to go to Metal 101. Budgie may have been one of the most influential metal bands of this period. Priest, Maiden, Kiss (listen to the rhythm played on bass in the middle section of "Rocking Man", then listen to "100,000 Years" and tell me Paul Stanley didn't steal it!!) all heavily borrowed from the Budgie riffology. There is variation with melotron, a couple Beatlesque acoustic numbers along with the typical Budgie heaviness of "Whisky River", "Rocking Man" and "Hot As A Docker's Armpit", and the epic "Young Is A World". The production is very stone age but an improvement over the debut. I own all the Tony Bourge era albums with the exception of "Never Turn Your Back On A Friend" and this one is my favorite."
