It's very dated and slow-paced by today's standards, of interest only to historian documentarians and james dean fanatics. The soundtrack, however, is a little more accesable. This album is full of bebop jazz, with impressive trumpet and piano work. The music sets a perfect tone for the type of music often associated with James Dean's era (the mid 1950s). Although Dean is often associated with youthful rebellion and rock and roll, he actually preferred classical music and jazz (which were still the most popular types of music in America at the time of his death)."
